The Right is only hurting itself (Not that I mind)
As this is my first post on this site, I’m not quite sure if the topic I am about to post is about is an unwanted topic but i don’t care and I am going to post it anyway. As a political junkie, I have been following the Republican primaries as much as I can before the irrationality forces me to stop. However, the rants of the under qualified candidates (possibly with the exception of Ron Paul, who seems to be the only consistent one of the whole bunch) is not the most interesting part of the race to determine who will square off with Barack Obama for the Presidency of the United States. To me, the most interesting part has been that I feel like I am watching the Democratic primary rather than the Republican primary. Normally it is the Democrats who tend to split their own vote and hurt their chances of getting into office.
With each debate, the Right is proving how undivided and ultimately how unready they are to take the reigns of government again. I have not heard a single good reason to vote for one of these candidates. All I have heard is reasons not to vote for the other guy. They are ultimately making Barack Obama’s job of being reelected a very easy one. All he has to do is continue to do what he is doing, which is proposing legislation that will help this country prosper and have it shut down by the Conservatives in Congress who only want to help the upper class.
It is hard for me to remember the last time a Conservative running as a third party in a major election was not seen as a laughing stock. The only question is whether I have no idea what I believe in Mitt Romney(very likely), old government and extremely Conservative Newt Gingrich, or religious fanatic Rick Santorum (highly doubtful) will win the Republican candidacy for President. I believe that the second place guy will run as a third party and will split the Conservative vote.
For all you Conservative Republicans out there, it will not be the end of the world when Barack Obama is reelected. He is not the best candidate out there, but he is much better then anyone that the Right can put up. He has also never had a chance to govern like he wanted to because white America wants one of its own back in office (Yeah I said it). If you look back through history though, a President cannot be defined by his first term in office. The first term is either cleaning up from the last guy or riding on the previous guys coat tails. The second term of a President will define his Presidency. So let’s give the our President the chance that I know he will have to run this country the way we all hope he will.

No, everyone is stupid but me, which includes you. I agree with that the best of the conservative party is not running, but it will be the end of the world if Obama is re-elected. He is a horrible president, shoving all of this leftist bullcrap down America’s throat. It will also be the “end of the world” because he wants to reduce our nuclear arsenal drastically, which even top democratic advisors have warned him not to do. P.S. responding to your race comment. He was only elected because he was black. If was white their would have been no way a congressman with that many radical affiliations and ONLY 2 years of experience would have been elected.
The world will end if Obama is re-elected? Where I come from, we call that alarmist hyperbole.
I also fail to see how reducing the nuclear arsenal = the end of the world. Pretty sure you have that backwards.
To your PS — I can’t speak for everyone else, but I definitely make all my voting decisions based on race. Oh, no, wait — that what YOU do.
THat is why he was elected, its so obivious. “oh im going to vote for the first black president.” The reduced arsenal weakens America and makes us vunerable for attack.
I voted for Obama for a number of reasons. (1) He is literate. For instance, he is aware that ‘im’ is not a word in the English language. (2) He can spell. He knows that ‘vulnerable’ has an L in it. Two, actually. He probably also knows that ‘obvious’ has only one I. (3) He can properly capitalize. He learned, as did most of us, that only the first letter in a sentence is capitalized. Not both the first and second letters.
I mean, I’m sure there were other reasons I voted for him, too. Just can’t remember them right now. Oh, yeah, the black thing. Definitely. Before Obama ran I’d just been writing in ‘Wesley Snipes’ every time I voted.
Last time I checked we weren’t in the Cold War anymore, and the size of your nuclear arsenal does not mean nearly as much as it did 20 years ago. It is in no one’s best interest to shoot off a nuke. Chine loves our debt too much to nuke us, and there are way too many Chinese for us to want to start a war. Russia has no reason to nuke us either. And there we have the only 3 countries that can destroy the world with nukes. Disaster averted (phew). Maybe if you turned off Fox News every once in a while and read some real journalism like myself and the other contributors on this website then maybe you would be better informed. But I am stupid so I guess you shouldn’t listen to me. I am only working on a doctorate after all (I guess that makes me a dumbass).
It’s actually worse than when were in the cold war. Small countries like Pakistan, North Korea, Iran are either developing them or have them. Those small countries don’t really have anything to lose and are more likely to use them. As for China and Russia being the only ones capable, it doesn’t take more than a few to hurt us or wipe us out.
Even during the height of the cold war, I really didn’t have any fear of a nuclear war between us and the USSR. I was more worried that some small country would get a hold of one.
I totally agree that it only takes one nuke to hurt us significantly. The comments that I made were in regard to a previous response to my article. The person claimed that the world would end if President Obama was reelected, and he cited nuclear war as the cause. I was saying that the only ones capable of ending the world with nukes are the U.S, China, and Russia. I do not doubt that a smaller country could get their hands on nukes and possibly use them.
Wesley Snipes is dark as the night!
Also . . . easy on calling any of our dumbasses journalist, Matt.
